Filmworks/FX Inc. was created in 2001.  After sharing space with Filmworks Laboratory Inc. until 2004, Filmworks/FX Inc. purchased the assets of Filmworks Laboratory, and the facility currently has all the elements to a high quality film pipeline including: visual effects, film processing, telecine, editorial, and digital intermediate.

The company works with major commercial and motion picture companies, including such projects as Apocalypto and Rescue Dawn.

Soon after graduating from CSU Chico with a degree in media arts in 1995, Ken formed a graphics company that created CG commercials and web graphics. After working as a high-end visual effects artist on such films as The Matrix, The Cell, and Donnie Darko, he created Filmworks/FX, Inc. and has lead the company into A-list effects work.  In addition to providing lab and online editing services, Filmworks has done VFX on The Terminal, Cheaper By The Dozen and Apocalypto.  In 2005 he authored a book on visual effects techniques that was released by Focal Press.

Ken has been the visual effects/animation supervisor on many music videos and films such as Smashmouth, Lil Bow Wow, Slum Village, Apocalypto, Rescue Dawn, and Dark Streets.  Ken also received an Omni Award for best visual effects on television for the show J.A.G.
